About Maeven

Hi, I’m Meg

I came to this work the way many do: through my own wounds and experimental healing. Much of what I know about herbs, ritual and the body was learned through caring for myself and my closest people. I learned southern folk herbalism under the founders of Maypop Community Herb Shop in New Orleans while training as a doula. From there, I deepened my practice at the Scarlet Sage Apothecary in San Francisco - working alongside skilled community and clinical herbalists in what was, at the time, the oldest continuously running apothecary in the Bay Area.

In designing your care, I’m a generalist at heart - drawing from Traditional Western, Southern Folk traditions, Ayurveda and basic elements of Traditional Chinese medicine. I specialize in supporting hormonal balance, PCOS, prenatal + postpartum health, adrenal fatigue, digestive health, and surgery preparation + recovery. But please note - I always refer out when something calls for more clinical expertise. I’ve also studied somatic movement, attachment theory, nutrition and grief work with the hope of offering support as a death doula soon. Across all these modalities, the goal is to help people tune in - to hear the song of their own vessel and respond with care.

In folk stories, healers lived at the edge of the forest - between the wild and the village, between the deep memory and the practical decisions of everyday community life. I cherish that position at the edge and my work to help those in need gather solutions from both sides. Not always the loudest voice in the room, but a steady one. When people find their way here, I’m ready to meet them with herbs, ritual and a framework for whatever transition they’re moving through.

The Story Behind Maeven Herbs + Aid

Maeven Herbs is named for the queen goddess Maeve - Celtic figure of cycles, seasons, creativity, change and fierce sovereignty. In her name, this work honors the seasons we move through physically + emotionally + spiritually  and how plant medicine meets us in each phase.

Every product in the Maeven line was created in response to a real need: often a specific issue someone I love was facing. These formulas are multitaskers, crafted to adapt to your moment whatever it might be. Whether you’re healing a wound, softening into a new identity or simply tending to your skin with presence - these products are an invitation to reconnect with your goal.

Maeven isn’t just about herbs. Through Maeven Aid, it’s a broader practice of care that includes ritual design, community connection and creative support. I offer guidance through transitional times and all the quiet (but powerful) thresholds in between. I also support the creative process as its own gestation: honoring the birthing of ideas, the discomfort of change and the power of integration.

In this spirit, I also create ritual textiles dyed with herbs and vegetables, along with altar cloths, memory quilts, precious pouches and soon ritual ceramics as well. Every item is made with intention and offered as tools to bless, cleanse or mark a moment in time.
